What is 2-1-1? |
What is
2-1-1? Just
as you would dial 9-1-1 for emergency
services, 4-1-1 for directory assistance,
you will be able to dial
2-1-1 for referrals to human service agencies, by trained
listeners.
Why is 2-1-1 needed?
To avoid
the runaround your clients get
when they don’t know the correct agency to call…
The goal of
2-1-1 is to create a simple,
uniform telephone point of access to
community health and social services
information and referral
programs.
What does this mean for your
agency?
More calls targeted to
your agency’s services and less generic,
non-specific calls to your
agency for information that wastes your staff’s time.
2-1-1 means
that up-to-date information regarding your agency will be easily
available to the public.
Who can I
call? Contact
Craig Redelsperger, Director of 2-1-1 Riverside
County or
Debora Mickelson, Community Outreach Specialist at
(951) 686-4402 ext. 111 or
2-1-1.
